Sat outside the darkened house Reading one of your old letters I'd carried it from town to town I sometimes hoped for you Things got better It says" We'e got a place by the river now The rooms are full of light, it's still our town If there's such a thing as a second chance... I want it now." That's what it says Things you keep Some things you were never meant to lose The things you keep Some things the world cannot refuse The things you keep You thought there was a way out So you took it on your hands and knees Oh what if your best days are gone How do you plead? And if day to day is a hurting thing You're even tired of all beauty now And you said goodbye to your baby face You said it to just about everything Things you keep Some things you were never meant to lose The things you keep Some things the world cannot refuse The things you keep Everybody was skinny then Nobody said you wouldn't win You said goodbye to your baby face And just about everything Things you keep Some things you were never meant to lose The things you keep Some things the world cannot refuse The things you keep Everybody was skinny then Everybody was skinny then And they said you wouldn't hear You said goodbye to your baby face And just about everything How do you plead? How do you plead? How do you plead? How do you plead? How do you plead?

Here's to the losers Some get away, some fall behind We're not getting any younger All that I ask you is to be kind All these failures, we're staring down the past Where the good times roll I get tired of living Or maybe I'm just tired of who I am Failure blows away all your childish plans But thank you for making me beg Now I'd love to get out of my head Here's to the losers Who have given up their ghosts Who lost all their connections Who go missing every boat People say "glad to be here" Now don't get in here I can't get that done I get tired of living At the same old scene Fame and fortune They're killing me But thank you for making me beg Now I'd love to get out of my head I had a long stretch dozing I was trying to get off All the lights went rushing past me Something good, gone All these failures, we're staring down the past Where the good times roll I get tired of living Or maybe I'm just tired of who I am Failure blows away all your childish plans But thank you for making me beg Now I'd Iove to get out of my head I get tired

We lived above the railroads and We watched the lightning trains Through the early dark With just enough to pay the rent Kept thinking one day going to make it Oh, we never did make it We never did make it What's left of us at the end of the ride Photos, letters and lies If no one is true, not even me and you We're in a world of liars If no one is true, not even me and you We're in a world of liars It's a world of liars A smoky room, a jukebox plays Killing me with kindness I fell for that, I always do I can feel myself going under That's how it gets lately That's how it feels lately What happened of the life that we knew Whatever happened to us No one is true, not even me or you We're in a world of liars 'Cause no one is true, not even me or you We're in a world of liars It's a world of liars My heart and yours were always at each other's strokes It proves how much we care And didn't we care And didn't we care And didn't we care In a world of liars Waterfront and the warm bus I know these places backwards If melancholy takes your hand You away Once in a while maybe Once in a while maybe What happened of the life we knew Whatever happened to us If no one is true, not even me or you We're in a world of liars If no one is true, not even me or you We're in a world of liars You and me, me and you What happened to You and me and me and you What happened to Well, it's not our world anymore It's not our world anymore It's not our world anymore It's not ours

Mr Somewhere 04:14
Day comes up sicker than a cat Something's wrong that is that Mr. somewhere missing somewhere Never did figure just how much A boat from the river takes you out 'Cross the other side of town, to get out, to get out You take the tide, any tide, any tide Like there isn't gonna be any tide Mr. somewhere missing somewhere Never did figure just how much Missing somewhere never did figure Just how much A world like tomorrow wears things out It's hard enough to get what's yours for now And the hardest words are spoken softly Softly look, no hands upon Mr. somewhere missing somewhere Never did figure just how much Missing somewhere never did figure Just how much Now the milkman beats you to the door That was once a home, home no more Mr. somewhere, missing somewhere Couldn't get the calendar to stop Missing somewhere, never did figure Just how much Missing somewhere, never will admit just how much
